Protato is our custom helper device used for experimentation, breadboarding and circuit bending. It's an adapter board with a built-in headphone amplifier and convenient breakout connectors. The board is comes on a 3d-printed support designed by Philipp Vollmer.

Uses

Protato is built first and foremost for breadboarding audio circuits that use 9V power supply. That of course includes effect pedals, but could also be synths, preamps and electronic music instruments.

Protato is used at our effect design workshops. We ourselves use it for prototyping and testing circuits all the time.

The device is also great for probing PCBs when doing repairs or circuit bending. For example it gets used during Repair Days.
