Non-Human Audio – Robins, distortion
Tax included.
The Robins is a distortion pedal designed to evoke the feeling of listening to your favorite heavy 90s alt rock records. Inspired by one in particular (the name and color are a hint).
- It is very loud, start low.
- The EQ is designed in the style of a Fender amp tone stack, start with all EQ knobs at noon and tweak to taste.
- There is a fair amount of sizzly high end by design, however if this is too intense for you there is an internal “hi-cut” dipswitch. It is a subtle change, but it’s there if you need it.
- There is a Boss pedal that is known to be have been used by Hum, Swervedriver, and My Bloody Valentine (among others), The Robins is not a clone of that pedal (it’s actually a very different design) but it can do a pretty good job sounding like it. Try the bass around 2-3 o’clock, the mids around 1 o’clock, and the treble around 10-11 o’clock.
NOTE: Because each pedal is made by hand every enclosure will be slightly different, your pedal may not look exactly like the photos.
