10.12.2022 Tape Loop Workshop by Sascha Bachmann

Dear Tapeloopers, the tape loop has a revival! It was already used as an instrument by Delia Derbyshire, as well as The Beatles, right through to William Basinski. Now it's your turn!

In this 90 min workshop you will learn how to make a basic cassette tape loop and how to make music with it. Sascha will be sharing his insight and wisdom built from years of experimenting with the cassette format.

The workshop will be small and hands-on. You will get all the supplies and you are of course welcome to bring your own:

  • Cassettes (please make sure they have screws in the corners)
  • Tape recorders / 4-tracks / tape players etc.

The workshop will take place at Pedal Markt on Saturday December 10th at 4pm.

To register for the workshop, please email hand.tapeloop@gmail.com. The price of the workshop is 40€. Please pay directly to Sascha's PayPal: surfah@gmx.de

Every participant gets their own goodie bag with a tape loop cassette, a sample pack to download and Sascha's Debut album on a vinyl.

Sascha Bachmann is a musician from Berlin who loves creating experimental sounds and dance beats. His solo project is called HAND.

When Bachmann was a kid in the 80's, he found his farther's Tesla tape machine in the basement. He started listening to music with his friends and became passionate about it. The foundational stone was laid. It is in part because of these early experiences that he has been working with tape loops since.
