16.11.2024 Embedded Effects in Pure Data, workshop
This is a beginner-friendly workshop by Servando Barreiro about building audio effects with Pure Data: delay, chorus, distortion, phaser, bitcrusher, pitshifter etc.
Pure Data (Pd) is an open source software that allows anyone to create effects, synthesizers, sequencers and even complete music pieces and performances with it.
One of the advantages of Pure Data compared with other audio programming languages is that it is visual and is much easier to get started with.
Pure Data patches can be run on specialized hardware devices like guitar pedals and Eurorack modules.
Servando has utilised Pd extensively in creating interactive audiovisual works dating back to the early 2000s. As a co-author of the FLOSS manual for Pure Data, his expertise serves as a valuable resource for online learning.
